Week 2, Question 1
You're living in this busy city that depends so much on machines and technology; you spend a lot time on the subway, you see much diversity and a variety of world views. Having read Chapters 1-3, what are some things Postman has made you think about that you didn't think about prior to the reading. I'm looking for deeper thoughts, reflections and synthesis than just "look at all the iPods/headphones; no one is talking to each other." (200 words; 10 pts.) Week 2, Discussion Interaction
Okay. So now we want to get some interesting interactions going, etc. Think of this as a vibrant class discussion. (100 words x 4 different posts on 3 different days) (20 pts.) (Where: Blackboard/Communication/Discussion Board: Week 2, Interaction)

Question: What are some of the UNINTENDED effects of Google Search, Google News, Google Ads or Google Business Tools? Are they positive or negative effects? Please note that I'm looking for a discussion of unintended or unexpected effects, not just obvious effects. Do you agree or disagree with your classmates? How so? I'll start jumping in here a well.

In the MS Word matrix I've provide in Blackboard (or a similar one of your own make), compare and contrast characteristics of Postman's 1) Tool-using culture, 2) Technocracy, 3) Technoplogy along the following dimensions. Use notes and incomplete sentences to compress information. Keep to one page.
